Why can’t I make Associate links to Kindle books?

At this time, Kindle Books are excluded as Qualifying Products from the Amazon.com Associates program. While Amazon.com does not pay referral fees on Kindle Books, you can still earn a 10% referral fee on all qualifying Kindle reader sales and Kindle magazine, newspaper, and blog subscriptions you refer to Amazon.com.
